The Apostasy – Aligning of Catholicism with Protestantism

By Thomas Taylor

The Bible prophesies a falling away of the Church right before Jesus Christ returns to rapture His Church. We see that happening all around us today as churches stand for abortion and homosexual marriage. Churches have left biblical Truth in pursuit of what is pleasing to the ears and flesh. They have pulled teachers to themselves, having itching ears, wanting to hear of only things that make them feel good. They no longer want to hear about repentance from sin and eternal judgment. They no longer believe the Bible is the infallible Word of God. They do not believe the Bible should be taken literally. Many believe Jesus is only one way to Heaven out of many. We ARE in the apostasy right now.

2 Thessalonians 2:3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition

“Falling away” in the Greek is the word apostacia. It means a defection from Truth. I believe we are in full fledged apostasy now and are about to enter the final stage of the great apostasy this passage is talking about. The final stage will be a merger of Catholicism with Protestantism. Now, there is nothing wrong with truly born-again Catholics fellowshipping with truly born-again Protestants; we should do that in the unity of the Faith. But that is not what I am talking about. I am talking about true believers getting back under the pagan Roman Catholic system, from which we broke away from 500 years ago, and following the false prophet Pope and his one-world religion. To do so will damn our souls for eternity.

Believers should have nothing to do with Pope Francis for he is a false shepherd. He is very cunning and almost supernaturally intelligent. He comes across as a sweet old man who labors in his speech. He reminds you of a grandpa you cherish. He speaks of helping the poor. He tells everyone he meets to, “pray for me.” He seems so humble. However, I warn you, the devil has been at this a long time and he knows exactly how to deceive the masses. Do not be fooled by this man.

The Great Merger – Catholicism with Protestantism

There has been a working of the Roman Catholic church to merge the Protestants back into Catholicism for centuries. That was the purpose of the Jesuits – to go out plants seeds of reunification with Rome. They have done that by disseminating Catholic doctrines into the Protestant churches so as to show Protestants and Catholics are not really that different. One of the major doctrines that separate the Protestants from Catholics is the doctrine of justification by faith and not works. That is one reason Martin Luther led the break away from Roman Catholicism (but only one reason among many – 95 to be exact).

In 1999 that major barrier between Lutherans and Catholics was supposedly removed in what is known as the Joint Declaration on the Doctrine of Justification.  Roman Catholicism says that it has capitulated on the doctrine of salvation by works and now believes we are saved by faith alone, supposedly like the Lutherans. Therefore, there is no more need to “protest” Catholicism. Rome is saying to Lutherans, “come back and join the flock again,” because Roman Catholicism believes they are the only real Church. However, Catholic doctrine did not really change; they just cunningly worded the JDDJ document so as to make everyone happy on both sides. Unfortunately, some of the Lutherans are falling for it.

The next step of Rome is to gather all that call themselves “Christian”, not just Lutherans, and bring them back under the wing of Roman Catholicism. That is due to happen October 31, 2017, the anniversary of when Martin Luther posted his 95 thesis (it also happens to be Halloween):

In the wake of the JDDJ [JOINT DECLARATION ON THE DOCTRINE OF JUSTIFICATION] by the Lutheran World Federation and the Catholic Church] of 1999, round XI, “The Hope for Eternal Life” is seen as a precursor leading up to a shared Lutheran/Roman Catholic commemoration of the October 31, 2017, 500th anniversary of Martin Luther’s posting of his 95 Theses. It appears that the Church of Rome and many of the Lutherans wish to declare an end to much of the theological divides between the two groups on or by October 31, 2017. –http://www.cogwriter.com/protestant-ecumenism.htm

Pope Francis says he hopes the 2017 anniversary of the Reformation, as well as a joint document by the Lutheran-Catholic commission for unity, will further encourage steps for Christian accord. The Pope was referring to the Lutheran-Catholic unity document, “From Conflict to Communion” during a May 4 private meeting with Church of Sweden Archbishop Antje Jackelen. … Francis said he hopes this initiative will encourage further steps toward unity, with God’s help, “and our collaboration with Him and one another,” Catholic News Agency reported. On December 18, the general secretary of the Lutheran World Federation, Rev. Martin Junge, said relations between the Lutheran and Catholic churches have reached an epoch-making turning-point.He spoke during preparations in Rome for the 500th anniversary of the Protestant Reformation in 2017 when Lutherans and Catholics are expected to cooperate in an act of Christian unity… “All Catholic faithful” are invited “to take up, recognize the signs of the times, the way of unity for overcoming divisions among Christians,” the pontiff said during his audience with Jackelen. He said division is not only in opposition “to the will of Christ, but is also a scandal to the world and causes damage to the holiest of causes: the preaching of the Gospel to every creature.”    http://www.ecumenicalnews.com/article/pope-hopes-2017-reformation-anniversary-will-encourage-christian-unity-29564

Pope Francis is even endeavoring to unite the Orthodox Church with Rome. He is certainly a busy Pope drawing all those that call themselves “Christian” into unity with Rome.

Conclusion

Pope Francis is strongly pushing toward Protestant unity with Roman Catholicism, which is apostasy. He may not force them pray to the “Virgin” Mary or call him their Pope but he does intend to create a one-world religion under the banner of Roman Catholicism. He holds universalist ideas like everyone is going to Heaven if they do good. Concerning homosexuals going to Heaven he said, “If someone is gay and he searches for the Lord and has good will, who am I to judge?” He believes Muslims worship the same God as Christians. For the first time ever in history, Pope brought Muslims to the Vatican to pray and read the Koran.

This Pope Francis is a very likely candidate for the false prophet of Revelation 13. He looks like a lamb but speaks as a dragon.

Revelation 13:11-12 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon. (12) And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

He is promoting the first beast, mentioned earlier in the chapter, which is the one-world government of the United Nations. That is how he “spake as a dragon” – pushing worldwide Socialism/Communism. He is the champion of the Global Goals for Sustainable Development which is the process by which the whole world will be brought under the control of the antichrist. He exercises all the power of the United Nations through religious speech, saying man made “climate change” is a sin and a moral imperative to stop. How is it stopped? By you submitting to the global government of the U.N.
