The Main Narrative of Revelation – The Seven Seals, Seven Trumpets, Seven Bowls

The Book of Revelation is Not Written in Chronological Order

The traditional interpretation of the book of Revelation is that the book is written in chronological order. In other words, most believe that the Seven Seals open first, then the Seven Trumpets sound, then the Seven Bowls are poured out. But this interpretation has been disproved in these last days. Daniel 12:9 points out that the mysteries of the end time will not be known until you reach the end time. Therefore, we cannot use theology from 100 years ago to determine our eschatology today. Now we see more clearly than any generation that preceded us. See my other articles on the subject.

The section of Revelation called the “things to come” is broken down into four narratives. The main one is the one we are covering here in this article. The other three are the parenthetical section on the Two Witnesses, the vision of chapters 17-19. and the vision of chapters 12-14. They each tell a different aspect of the story that reveals Jesus Christ. They all end the exact same. Each one ends with the final 3 1/2 years, then the Rapture, then the Wrath of God. So there are FOUR accounts of the Rapture of the Church in the book of Revelation! But each account is the same event. There are not four Raptures – there’s only one.

This is critical to understanding the book of Revelation. Each of the four narratives start at different times emphasizing different things but they all end the same – dove-tailing to the Second Coming of Jesus Christ. If you try to read Revelation in order without knowing these four separate narratives are there, you will have very wrong timing conclusions and lots of confusion. THAT is why the end time teaching has been so confusing, with so many different variants, so that no one knows what to believe. Study my lessons for yourself prayerfully and see if God doesn’t show you something special about the chronology of this amazing book.

The Events as They Will Happen In Order

*Note: I am not teaching the following as absolutes. I am suggesting the interpretation of the symbols and events based on my over 5,000 hours of study on the subject of end times and as I am led by God . You judge by the Word and Spirit whether I am correct.

The Beginning:  Seals 1 Through 5

The first three seals have been opened for some time. The Fourth Seal recently opened.  The Fifth Seal is soon to come. You will notice in my graphic I have a white section in the middle that estimates the timing of the events.

The First Seal opened many centuries ago, around the 4th century, when Christianity became influenced by Gnosticism and eventually controlled by the state. The result was Roman Catholicism. Roman Catholicism is the earthly foundation of Mystery Babylon. Its doctrine is contrary to Christ and the Bible. It is a form of godliness but denies the power. It is a great deception that has been around for over 1600 years and is ripe for the false prophet, the final pope, to lead into perdition. More on the First Seal

The Second Seal opened around the 19th century with the advent of Communism. The book of Revelation describes the second rider of the horse as one that was given power to take peace from the earth so that men kill one another. The horse represents government and the rider represents the spirit of anti-christ over government resulting in wars. What is the origin of wars and the bloodshed of so many people over the centuries?  There is some fighting because of religions but it is a very small amount relative to the war and bloodshed caused by state ruling powers/governments. State ruling powers/governments have caused over 55 million deaths through persecuting its populace whereas religious persecution has only caused 14 million deaths. The governments that caused the most bloodshed were communistic and socialistic in their political orientation. I believe the red horse represents the power of the spirit of antichrist over man’s government so that it would propel the world into war. I believe the power of the antichrist world-government will start as Socialism and move towards Communism – absolute government control with no one owning property any longer. The Third Seal opened around the 20th century with the advent of world trade and stock markets. The rider on this horse is Famine.  The horse represents economics; therefore, the rider is the power of the spirit of anti-christ over economics which results in famine.  Notice the balances in the rider’s hand. Balances have traditionally been used in commerce to weigh commodities to assess proper value for sale. This black horse rider, Famine, will cause the cost of food to become cruelly expensive. Inflation is on its way. Even the cheapest of foods, barley, will take a full day’s work to pay off. World trade and stock markets are not evil in themselves but when they get into the hands of secular men, they become based on fear and greed. Therefore, the markets are destined to collapse around the world because there is no sure foundation under them. More on the Third Seal

The Fourth Seal opened sometime with in the last 100 or so years.  And in particular, the year 2020 seems to signal a significant rush toward the green horse and rider’s power.  The green horse represents nature, so when the power of the spirit of antichrist controls nature it will result in death and hell for millions on planet earth. When the spirit of antichrist has power over nature itself, it results in pestilences. The Corona virus is one example but unfortunately it gets worse. This Fourth Seal also includes natural disasters like earthquakes, tsunamis, and hurricanes or cyclones. These spirits, of Death and Hell, have authority over 1/4 of the earth. They have the tools of “hunger and with death, and with beasts of the earth.”  These beasts of the earth are not just the visible kind but also the invisible kind – the microscopic kind, namely infectious and parasitic diseases.  I looked up the leading causes of death and found out that over 27% of mankind is killed by three factors: 1. war and violence/sword (1.28%), 2. malnutrition/hunger (1.31%), and 3. infectious and parasitic diseases/beasts of the earth (23.04%). That  is more than 1/4 of mankind just as the Bible predicted! And that does not include those killed by Death, which I believe is a reference to those killed by natural disasters. That is exactly what the prophecy says; 1/4 of the earth under this fourth horseman will die. We are living in the days of the Fourth Seal right now! More on the Fourth Seal

The Fifth Seal is the next event on the horizon of the end time for us. It has not occurred yet but I believe it to be very close. The Fifth Seal represents persecution against God’s people, first the Jews then the Christians. I believe Daniel’s seventieth week, seven years, to begin within the next few years. That is when persecution against the Jews will begin more severely than what we’ve seen in recent times. In particular, the persecution will rage against Jews because they will begin to build their third temple on the Temple Mount, right next to the Muslim Dome of the Rock. Then the Great Tribulation 3 1/2 years begins.  The Fifth Seal kicks into high gear at that point. The world will hate both Jews and Christians. Christians will be hated because we will stand with the Jews and against world government. Both Jews and Christians will be slaughtered by the nations, in particular the new world government – the revised United Nations.

Rev 6:12-14 NASB  I looked when He broke the sixth seal, and there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth made of hair, and the whole moon became like blood;  (13)  and the stars of the sky fell to the earth, as a fig tree casts its unripe figs when shaken by a great wind.  (14)  The sky was split apart like a scroll when it is rolled up, and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.

*The following is just one possible theory to consider on how the first six Trumpets are going to unfold.

During the latter part of the Great Tribulation of 3 1/2 years an asteroid will hit the earth. It will sound off the first five Trumpets all together as one event. But because it is an asteroid that scientists have tracked, we will know in advance, possibly years in advance, that it is coming. And so I believe that when the knowledge of it is released to the public, the world will lose its mind quickly accepting world government and the Beast monetary system. This will be be some time in the last few years of Daniel’s Seventieth week – the final seven years. The minds of the people on planet earth will turn to sheer panic, pandemonium, and paralysis. Everything we know will seemingly collapse overnight. All commerce and all markets will be broken without recovery.

So, who steps in to save us from the asteroid and economic collapse? A newly revised United Nations – world government. They will claim to have a plan to stop or minimize the damage of the asteroid impact (and fix the world economy which they will do through a new cashless monetary system requiring pledging allegiance to the new world government, a.k.a. the Mark of the Beast). But first they have to get the world under control over the next few years to do it. World Marxism/Communism will be implemented to control the populations of the world in an effort to “save the planet” from the asteroid.

The revised United Nations will have to come in with a strong iron fist to control the hysteria and they will do it through Communism – ceasing control of all things. You must understand they have been planning this for a very long time and revealed their hand back in 2015 (God tried to get our attention on the “covenant with many” through the signs of the blood moons in 2015; see link 1, link 2, link 3, link 4). It is called the U.N. Global Goals for Sustainable Development. PLEASE CLICK THAT LINK AND READ IF YOU DON’T KNOW. The Corona virus hysteria was a great dry-run for them to see what resistance they would encounter when trying to take control.

There is an asteroid coming that will strike the earth and shake everything we know as normal. One-third of humanity will die due to the effects of the asteroid and world Communism over the following 1 1/2 years from the date of impact. It will not be a planet-killer that kills all life but it will kill much life. I believe the world government has a plan, but it is not a good plan. They will fire nuclear missiles at it but they will not deflect the asteroid. The velocity at which it is hurdling toward earth is too great and they will be too late. Their attempt to deflect the asteroid will cause part of it to break apart. Those parts hit us first and destroy vegetation on land – 1/3 of trees will be burned up and all grass burned up where the asteroid debris hits (Trumpet 1).

Next, the main body of the asteroid will hit the Pacific ocean. It will create a massive 50 foot tsunami that will destroy all ships in the Pacific ocean (Trumpet 2). It will wipe out many cities on the shores of the Pacific. This asteroid has been made radioactive due to the nuclear missiles that were shot at it. So when it hits the ocean, it will spray a radioactive aerosol into earth’s atmosphere which will poison much of the fresh waters (Trumpet 3).  Because the asteroid hit the Pacific Rim, many volcanoes will erupt pushing tons of ash and soot into the atmosphere (Trumpet 4). The days on earth will be literally darkened until Jesus returns.  The sun will be blocked and photosynthesis on earth will be very difficult. This will cause massive famines since food cannot readily be produced.

The impact of the asteroid will crack open the earth’s mantle.  Under the earth, in the spirit realm, demons exist. They are bound there until the earth’s mantle is opened. Those demons that can fly will fly out from their captivity through that opening (Trumpet 5). We will not see these demons in the physical realm but they will torment men none-the-less. It will be a very grievous torment for sinners but the people of God cannot be attacked because we will have the Seal of God upon us. They will torment men for five months.

The Sixth Trumpet will sound afterward releasing four powerful fallen angels that were bound under the Euphrates river. With them will be released a demon army of 200,000 which will kill one-third of mankind at an appointed time (Trumpet 6). Again, these being cannot be seen because they are in the spirit realm.

The Rapture at the Last (Seventh) Trumpet

The signs of His coming are mentioned in Matthew 24:

Mat 24:29-31 NASB  “But immediately after the tribulation of those days THE SUN WILL BE DARKENED, AND THE MOON WILL NOT GIVE ITS LIGHT, AND THE STARS WILL FALL from the sky, and the powers of the heavens will be shaken.  (30)  “And then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and then all the tribes of the earth will mourn, and they will see the SON OF MAN COMING ON THE CLOUDS OF THE SKY with power and great glory.  (31)  “And He will send forth His angels with A GREAT TRUMPET and THEY WILL GATHER TOGETHER His elect from the four winds, from one end of the sky to the other.

So this describes how the world will be when Jesus returns: the sun darkened and the moon not shining and the stars falling. There will be a planet-wide shaking of the earth. The heavens will even shake at the coming of Jesus.  Then He sends His angels to gather the Church in the Rapture.

The Church will be raptured to be with Jesus forever wherever He goes. This all happens during the Seventh Seal and Seventh Trumpet. When the Church has cleared the earth, God pours out His fierce wrath on those that remain on the earth.

The Wrath

The Wrath of God is a very specific event at the end. It is not a general concept that occurs when God judges the men on earth. You could call all that happens in the final seven years God’s judgement – God allowing sin to reach its full consequence. But that is not God actively pouring out His wrath. It is simply God stepping back so that sin and death can have full expression on earth. However, the Wrath of God is something entirely different. The Wrath of God is when God actively destroys His enemies, in this case with plagues and fire.

When the Wrath of God event occurs there will be virtually nothing left. When God poured out His wrath in Noah’s day, no men were left except those in the ark. When God poured out His wrath on Sodom and Gomorrah there was nothing left. THAT is the Wrath of God to come. On the battlefield of Armageddon, nothing will be left alive. Fire will fall from Heaven that will consume His enemies. God has been holding back His full wrath since the cross – when He poured it out on His own Son for our sins. Now it is time to pour it out on those that did not receive the Son.

The Seven Bowls of the Wrath of God:

Rev 16:1  Then I heard a loud voice from the temple, saying to the seven angels, “Go and pour out on the earth the seven bowls of the wrath of God.” 
Rev 16:2  So the first angel went and poured out his bowl on the earth; and it became a loathsome and malignant sore on the people who had the mark of the beast and who worshiped his image. 
Rev 16:3  The second angel poured out his bowl into the sea, and it became blood like that of a dead man; and every living thing in the sea died. 
Rev 16:4  Then the third angel poured out his bowl into the rivers and the springs of waters; and they became blood. 

Rev 16:8  The fourth angel poured out his bowl upon the sun, and it was given to it to scorch men with fire. 
Rev 16:10  Then the fifth angel poured out his bowl on the throne of the beast, and his kingdom became darkened; and they gnawed their tongues because of pain, 
Rev 16:12  The sixth angel poured out his bowl on the great river, the Euphrates; and its water was dried up, so that the way would be prepared for the kings from the east. 

Rev 16:17  Then the seventh angel poured out his bowl upon the air, and a loud voice came out of the temple from the throne, saying, “It is done.” 
Rev 16:21  And huge hailstones, about one hundred pounds each, came down from heaven upon men; and men blasphemed God because of the plague of the hail, because its plague *was extremely severe. 

Conclusion

The Seven Seals of Revelation are the main narrative of the book. There are two end-time visions and a short parenthetical account of the Two Witnesses outside of the main narrative and chronology of Revelation. Only when you follow the main narrative does the chronology of events makes sense. If you try to mix in the visions and parenthetical with the main narrative, you will get the timing all mixed up.
